Welcome to the Confidence Club Martial Arts competitive program! We are excited to offer two levels of competitive teams to help our students grow in skill, confidence, and sportsmanship. Below, you will find the criteria and participation details for each team.
Our Local Team is perfect for students looking to gain experience and enjoy the fun of competition in a supportive environment.
- Rank Requirement: Open to all ranks (beginner to black belt).
- Age: Minimum of 8 years old.
- Commitment:
- Attendance at least twice a week in regular classes.
- Attendance at least 1-2 weekly team practices.
- Performance:
- Demonstrates basic understanding of forms and sparring techniques.
- Shows a positive attitude and sportsmanship.
- Cost: At this time, there is no extra charge to attend tournament classes.
- Competitions:
- Smaller, local tournaments within a 50–100-mile radius.
- Events include forms, sparring, and weapons.
- Focus:
- Gaining experience and building confidence.
- Prioritizing fun and sportsmanship over high-pressure performance.
- Team Activities:
- 2–3 local tournaments per year + Indiana State Championship
Our State Team is designed for advanced students dedicated to excelling in high-level competition.
- Rank Requirement: Intermediate to black belt ranks only.
- Age: Minimum of 8 years old.
- Commitment:
- Attendance at least 3 times a week in regular classes.
- Attendance at least 2-4 weekly team practices.
- Performance:
- Proven tournament experience with placements in local competitions.
- Advanced skills in forms, sparring, or weapons.
- Ability to handle constructive criticism and focus on improvement.
- Cost: At this time, there is no extra charge to attend tournament classes.
- Competitions:
- local and state championship tournaments.
- Focus:
- High-level performance and competitiveness.
- Building discipline and leadership.
- Team Activities:
- Participation in 4–5 high-level competitions per year, including AAU Taekwondo National Championships
Both teams will have opportunities to come together for the following:
- Local Tournaments:
- Both teams can compete, with specific goals for each group.
- In-House Competitions:
- Friendly matches to foster collaboration and mentorship.
- Team Training:
- Joint sessions for general improvement, with specialized training based on team level.
