Little Kicks Program (Ages 6-7)

Confidence, Character, and Kicks--One Step at a Time

At Confidence Club Martial Arts, our Little Kicks program is thoughtfully designed for 6 and 7-year-olds who are ready to begin their martial arts journey. This age group is full of energy, curiosity, and potential--and we aim to harness all of that into focused, meaningful growth. More than just a Taekwondo class, Little Kicks is a dynamic 30-minute experience where students build foundational martial arts skills while developing critical life habits that will help them thrive in every area of their lives.

In Little Kicks, we emphasize:

  • Teamwork - We help students understand what it means to be part of a group, support each other, and work toward shared goals.
  • Focus - Every class encourages children to practice active listening and to stay engaged with the task at hand.
  • Self-Defense - From lining up properly to practicing patience during partner drills, self-discipline is woven into every activity.
  • Balance - Through dills and movement exercises, students improve their physical coordination and body control.
  • Fitness - Classes are active and fun, helping young students build strength, stamina, and healthy habits.
  • Patience - Students learn that progress takes time and effort, and that learning happens step by step.
  • Coordination - Through carefully designed drills, children develop both gross and fine motor skills.
  • Respect - Bowing, listening, and using kind words are practiced in every class, reinforcing the importance of respect for self and others.

We strongly recommend 2 classes per week to maximize progress, build consistency, and help students retain what they've learned. The more they come, the more the grow.

Class Format: What to Expect

Each 30-minute class is structured to be high-energy, fast-paced, and full of skill-building:

  1. Warm-up & Focus (5 minutes) - Light stretching and a simple moves to sharpen attention and coordination.
  2. Basic Technique Drills (10 minutes) - Kicks, blocks, and strike taught in a fun, engaging way using pads, paddles, and movement-based drills.
  3. Form Practice or Partner Drills (10 minutes) - Age-appropriate Taekwondo forms and combinations are introduced, along with controlled partner activities that build timing, cooperation, and self-control.
  4. Brief Chat & Wrap-Up (5 minutes) - We finish every class with a short message about one of our core values--like perseverance or kindness--and give students a chance to reflect and feel proud of their effort.

Structured for Success

The Little Kicks belt system mirrors our regular Taekwondo ranks, with a simplified and age-appropriate approach. Belts help students understand progress in a tangible way, and each level introduces slightly more challenging techniques and responsibilities. As they move through the ranks, Little Kicks students begin to display leadership, confidence, and self-control that stand out both in and out of class.

Our curriculum is carefully paced to allow students to build mastery while still having fun. We want every child to feel successful--and to know that growth comes from showing up, trying hard, and never giving up.

Building Confidence and Character

At Confidence Club Martial Arts, we believe that martial arts is about more than physical still-it's about helping kids become their best selves. That's why every Little Kicks class emphasizes both personal and social growth. Through consistent practice, students become:

  • Better listeners
  • More respectful at home and school
  • More confidence in themselves
  • More resilient when facing challenges
  • More cooperative with peers and adults

These are the kids of changes our parents notice quickly. Whether it's improved behavior in school, increased responsibility at home, or simply seeing their child stand taller and smile wider, the benefits of Little Kicks show up everywhere.

The Instructors

We understand how to communicate with this age group, and we've developed tools and strategies to keep classes both disciplined and fun. We know how to redirect a distracted child, encourage a shy student, and bring out the best in every participant.

Most importantly, we teach with patience, enthusiasm, and sincere desire to help every child succeed--on the mat and in life.

Parent Partnership and Progress

We keep parents in the loop with updates on what we're learning, what students are working toward, and how you can help support their progress at home. Our belt tests and graduation provide students with moments of celebration and give families a chance to cheer on their success.

We also offer occasional home assignments that help bridge what your child learns in class with real-life situations--like showing respect to teachers or using patience with siblings.

Why Parents Choose Little Kicks

Parents love Little Kicks because it's more than just a class--it's a program that helps children grow physically, mentally, and emotionally. In just 30 minutes, your child will swear, smile, and succeed. And over time, they'll develop habits that will benefit them for years to come.

Some of the common benefits families report include:

  • Improved behavior and listening at home
  • Better focus and task completion at school
  • Stronger coordination and athletic ability
  • More confidence in social settings
  • Greater emotional control and self-regulation

And most of all, they love seeing their child excited to attend each class and proud of their accomplishments.

Start Strong. Grow with Confidence

If you're looking for a program that nurtures your child's development while introducing them to the art of Taekwondo in a fun, structured environment, the Little Kicks program is the perfect fit.

Your child will feel welcome, supported, and motivated from the very first class--and you'll see just how powerful martial arts can be in building a confident, respectful, and focused young leader.
